The Joys of Acrylic
Adult Art Class
Dive into the vibrant world of acrylic painting in The Joys of Acrylic. This adult art class celebrates the rich colours, playful styles, and endless textures that make acrylic such an exciting and versatile medium.
Students will learn foundational acrylic techniques while experimenting with layering, mark-making, texture building, and colour exploration. With guided instruction and creative freedom, this class encourages curiosity, confidence, and personal expression—perfect for beginners and those looking to loosen up and try new approaches.
Whether you love bold colour, expressive strokes, or tactile surfaces, this class invites you to explore, experiment, and enjoy the process of painting.
Come paint, play, and discover the joys of acrylic.
* We unfortunately cannot offer make up classes for a missed class

You will provide your own supplies. This allows you to practice and work on your projects at home with the right tools and materials.

Paint Colours (required)
Titanium White (150ml, you may need to buy more along the way)
Cadmium yellow ( tube of about 150ml)
Cobalt blue (tube of about 150ml)
Cadmium red (tube of about 150ml)
Black (tube of about 150ml)
Raw Sienna
Burnt Sienna
Additional Colours( if you’d like to splurge)
Phthalo blue
Phthalo green
Dioxazine purple
Magenta
Brown (burnt Sienna or Raw umber)
Hot pink (my favourite strongly suggest this one)
Tools
11”x14” canvases - Value packs of 7 from Michael’s/DeSerres/or Above Ground work great!
pencil (just regular HB)
#1 round Nylon brush (smaller round brush for details)
#6-8-10 round Nylon brush (a medium round brush, sizes vary depending on brand so if it looks too small get a bigger round brush)
1 inch flat brush Nylon brush
You are welcome to bring more brushes (the numbering does vary per company, as long as you have a small, medium and larger brush. Feel free to grab value packs of paint brushes, but make sure they are nylon.
¾ inch bristle brush ( this is a brush with harder or stiffer hair, the size can vary from my suggestion)
Fan brush (also bristle)
Palette knife
Paint palette (we strongly suggest paper plates easier for clean up, or palette paper works great)
Water containers (2 yogurt or mason jars are great)
Paper towel
