Acrylic Painting Class: Food-Inspired Art
Join us for a fun and creative acrylic painting class running Thursdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, from September 17th to November 12th
(no class the week of October 8th).
This session’s theme is food-inspired art—from painting juicy, mouthwatering burgers to classic still life and delightful sweet treats. Whether you're capturing rich textures or vibrant colours, this class will guide you through techniques that bring your subject to life.
You’ll learn how to build texture and layering, and explore value, shadows, and colour theory to elevate your work. These skills will strengthen your artistic journey—whether food is your passion or just a fun theme to explore.
Come learn, experiment, and enjoy the process in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Get ready to create art that might just make your stomach rumble!
All skill levels are welcome.
* We unfortunately cannot offer make up classes for a missed class

You will provide your own supplies. This allows you to practice and work on your projects at home with the right tools and materials.

Titanium White (150 ml — you may need more over time)
Cadmium Yellow (approx. 150 ml tube)
Cobalt Blue (approx. 150 ml tube)
Cadmium Red (approx. 150 ml tube)
Black (approx. 150 ml tube)
Brown (burnt sienna , or what you can find)
Additional Colours (Optional / Splurge)
Phthalo Blue
Phthalo Green
Dioxazine Purple
Magenta
Hot Pink (highly recommended! Because it’s fun)
Tools
Surfaces & Drawing
11” × 14” canvases (7-8 canvases)
Value packs (e.g., packs of 7) from art stores work well
Pencil (standard HB)
Brushes (Nylon unless noted)
#1 round brush (small, for details)
#6–8–10 round brush (medium — sizing varies by brand)
1-inch flat brush (a must, please have a this brush for large surfaces)
¾-inch bristle brush (stiffer hair not nylon f; size can vary)
a smaller round bristle brush
You can bring extra brushes if you like. Just make sure you have small, medium, and large options. Value packs are fine — ensure they are nylon.

Paint palette
Paper plates (recommended for easy cleanup)

Water containers
2 jars (yogurt containers or mason jars work well)
