Beginner Drawing: Pencil Techniques
Adult Art Class
A primer for object drawing. Learn form, light and shadow, composition, and texture shading techniques as we draw from arranged still life and picture reference.
Perfect for true beginners or anyone looking to refresh the basics, this class emphasizes progress, creativity, and enjoyment over perfection.
Dates: April 15th-June 3rd
Time: 7:00–9:00 PM
No experience needed—just curiosity and a pencil.
Students will provide their own supplies. This ensures you can continue practicing and working on your projects at home with the materials that give you the best results.
Supply List:
Graphite pencil set (2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
White pencil (faber-castel or prismacolour)
Charcoal (conte) sticks- soft and medium in black, white, and 2 willow charcoal sticks
Pad of mixed media white, grey, black paper (8×10 or larger)
Board to tape artwork on, and art or painter’s tape
White eraser and kneaded eraser
Smudge sticks, Q-tips
Taxes not included.
