Beginner Drawing: Pencil Techniques
Adult Art Class

Pencils open the door to endless ideas. This adult beginner drawing course focuses on building confidence and foundational skills while creating a small collection of finished drawings.

Students will learn simple, practical pencil and colouring techniques including line work, shading, value, and texture. Through guided exercises and approachable projects, participants will develop observation skills and discover how to bring their ideas to life on paper in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Perfect for true beginners or anyone looking to refresh the basics, this class emphasizes progress, creativity, and enjoyment over perfection.

Dates: March 25 – May 13
Time: 7:00–9:00 PM

No experience needed—just curiosity and a pencil.

Students will provide their own supplies. This ensures you can continue practicing and working on your projects at home with the materials that give you the best results.

  • Graphite pencil set (2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)

  • Set of pencil crayons (45+ colours; Prismacolor or Faber-Castell recommended)

  • Pad of high-quality pencil or sketch paper (8x10 or larger)

  • Board to tape artwork on, and art or painter’s tape

  • White eraser and kneaded eraser

  • Smudge sticks, Q-tips

  • Electric eraser pen (optional but very useful)

Taxes not included.

*Please note we only give partial refunds back in the event of emergencies only. This excludes no shows. Due to the nature of the business for our adult classes, we cannot do make up classes or give refunds for missed classes. We apologize for this inconvenience.
