Intermediate Animal Drawing: Mastering Feathers, Fur, and Skin
Course Overview:
Take your drawing skills to the next level with this 8-week intermediate class focused on capturing the texture, detail, and life of animals. In this course, you’ll learn how to draw feathers, fur, and skin with precision and depth, exploring various techniques to bring your animal subjects to life. This class is designed for those who already have a basic understanding of drawing and want to refine their ability to depict more complex textures and anatomical details.

Throughout the 8 weeks, you’ll delve into the intricacies of drawing animals, focusing on realistic textures and surfaces. From the delicate softness of feathers to the coarse, layered appearance of fur and the smoothness or roughness of skin, you’ll learn the unique techniques that make these textures believable. Graphite pencil set (4H, 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B)
White eraser and kneaded eraser
Pencil crayons set (recommend 24-36 count)
ultra fine tip sharpie
1 pad Multi-media paper (8x10 or larger) in assorted white to greys
1 board (to tape your paper down too. It can be a Canvas board (11x14) from the dollar store/art store or a masonite/mdf board from the hardware store . As long as it’s bigger than your paper size.)
