Intermediate Drawing: Shapes in Nature
Adult Art Class

Designed for those with some drawing experience, this intermediate course invites students to slow down and look closely at the shapes and forms found in nature. Through guided projects, participants will build a small set of finished artworks while strengthening observational skills.

The class will focus on easy, practical pencil and colouring techniques, including value, texture, layering, and composition. Emphasis is placed on refining skills, developing confidence, and exploring personal style in a supportive and creative environment.

This course is ideal for artists who are comfortable with basic drawing and are ready to deepen their practice.

A thoughtful, hands-on exploration of the natural world, human structures, and industrial influence.

Supply List:

  • Pencils (HB, 2H, 4B) as part of set or individual

  • White eraser and kneaded eraser

  • Watercolour round brushes (sizes 5 and 8), chisel brush (size 12)

  • Set of 3 to 5 black fine-tip pens (Micron recommended)

  • Bottle of india ink

  • Set of 12 (or more) watercolour pencil crayons

  • Pad of heavy duty multimedia paper (10×12 or larger)

  • Board to tape artwork on, and painter’s tape
