Winter Watercolour Evenings
4-Week Adult Art Class | Mondays 7–9 PM | Julie Glaude’s Art Space

Embrace the beauty of the winter season through the soft, luminous world of watercolour. In this 4-week series, we’ll explore winter-inspired subjects — from frosty landscapes and cozy candlelit scenes to snow-dusted evergreens and glowing night skies.

Each week, you’ll build on your technique, learning how to layer transparent washes, create atmosphere, and bring warmth and depth to cool winter palettes. Whether you’re a beginner or have painted before, this class offers a relaxed, creative space to unwind, connect, and capture the magic of the season one brushstroke at a time..

* We unfortunately cannot offer make up classes for a missed class

*taxes not included

You will provide your own supplies. This allows you to practice and work on your projects at home with the right tools and materials.

  • Cadmium Yellow Medium (a must have )

  • Yellow Ochre

  • Cadmium Red Medium (a must have)

  • Alizarin Crimson

  • Permanent Rose

  • #8 round Nylon brush (some companies vary in their sizes)

  • #10 round Nylon

  • 1" flat brush Nylon brush

  • NOTE: you can buy a value pack just make sure it’s a watercolour set. Micheals has a great one for $17

  • Inexpensive #4 for applying masking fluid

    • You are welcome to have more brushes to experiment with

  • Masking fluid (also called Frisket, drawing gum.. )

  • Cold press 140-LB watercolour paper (arches or strathmore are strong suggestions. I would stay away from Artist Loft level 2 paper from Micheal’s, level 3 artist loft should be fine )

  • Masking tape

  • Paint palette big enough for every colour to have a spot and space to mix paint.(a plastic one that can close or has a lid. I suggest a bigger one from Amazon, I can no longer find them in the local art stores)

  • Paper towel

  • Waterproof fine tip sharpie

  • sponge (sea sponge pack from the dollar store works, or any sponge without the abrasive material)

  • MDF board or flat board to tape your paper to. (Any hard surface, a canvas board is a perfect option as well)

*Please note we only give partial refunds back in the event of emergencies only. This excludes sick days or no shows. Due to the nature of the business for our adult classes, we cannot do make up classes or give refunds for missed classes. We apologize for this inconvenience.
